2012: A Difficult Journey

Posted in Personal on Jan 02, 2013.

Happy New Year!

I know what you’re thinking… Where has One Parade been the past few months? Long story short, this year has been one of the most eventful years of my life. I’ve grown tremendously as a person, my responsibilities at work have increased, I rediscovered my love for blogging, my relationship ended (yes, I am no longer getting married), I moved into a lovely new place with my dog Max, and my little sister had a beautiful baby girl named Olivia Norah.

As you may figure, putting an end to my engagement has put a stop to a lot of my creativity which includes updating this blog. It’s been a rough few weeks, but it’s all for the best and I look toward the future being brighter.

Looking ahead at 2013, I only see more positives and opportunities for growth. This year will be all about me, exploring my interests and putting 100% of myself into everything I do.

You may see some changes here at the blog to reflect everything that has happened in my life recently. But One Parade is still here, and still kicking. I can’t wait to share my lovely new place with you all. I have many fun posts planned.

In the meantime, here are some fun new year links I’d like to share:

What are your goals for 2013?

That’s a lot of changes. I love that quote etched on the tree. That’s where I’m going this year. When I tried to look back at my life in 2012, I felt a little sadness. I know I didn’t make the most of it. I can’t remember anything I’ve done deliberately to actually “live”.

I’m taking 2013 one day at a time. With the goal of not letting any day pass without helping someone, or making someone happy. No day should go to waste.

I hope 2013 is better for the both of us! You’re right, no day should go to waste.

Wow. That is a lot of changes. I hope the best goes well for you in the new year. When I look back, I know I had mistakes and wish I could have done things differently. However, I did enjoy 2012. I am looking for some new changes, but I have made one huge goal and it is similar to yours. I am going to focus more on me and complete what I like to do. Good luck with the new year!
