I also arranged what I hope to one day be my coffee tray. Yes, I take products and arrange them in the store… A girl on a tight budget has to fulfill the need to decorate and organize somehow. I took a picture in hopes of coming back sometime soon to purchase. I wanted to make sure my coffee grounds fit on the right, and I needed time to let the cost of the silver tray set in. ($20 for such a tiny tray, what the heck Target?)
I got home with my newly purchased beauty products and then began what I call the biyearly purge — I had to go through all my beauty supplies and toss out anything older than 2 years. (Have you done this recently? Do it! Save your skin!)
I also had to toss things that didn’t suit my skin tone anymore, or that I knew were breaking me out. (Cue the revelation for why I suddenly had acne issues after using my makeup again.) I figured better safe than sorry.
This lead to a cleaning frenzy in which I organized my entire bathroom cabinets, washed my makeup brushes to death, and wiped everything down.
Look out for a makeup collection this week, in which you can take a look at my tiny collection!

I’m addicted to International Delight’s Cinnabon coffee creamer. I don’t even miss Starbucks.
I decided on Friday to start cutting out some caffeine again after getting the jitters, so I’m back on decaf. My body just can’t handle much caffeine. My love affair with coffee is killing me.
Independence Day was wonderful! I hope everyone else in the US enjoyed. We had a great show not far away that I was able to enjoy from my balcony.
Walgreens was having some big sales this week. In addition to a large box of Milkbones for $2 (lucky pups!) I saw the Yes to Carrots tinted balms were only about $1 each down from almost $6. There were only about five left, so I grabbed what looked to be an orange color. It’s actually a perfect neutral, so I scored big time!
Essie wasn’t on sale, but I saw this muted lilac color (Master Plan) and couldn’t pass it up. I’m such a sucker. It didn’t help that I’ve been growing tired of the colors in my collection.
Finally went to a matinee showing of Brave. Loved it! I’m a huge Pixar fan.
Inspired by the polish, I created an iPhone wallpaper and put it up as a freebie. Download it out here! I hope to be adding more freebies as the weeks go by, as a thank you for everyone who reads the blog. You’re amazing!

I moved my desk. After much deliberation, I decided to move my desk from the “office” into the living room. The “office” is turning into too much of a man cave for my tastes. I wasn’t feeling inspired, and as a result it was hard for me to do any blogging or design work. So I’ll let Josh have that space, and we’ll use the extra room for the guest bed. I’ve also solved the problem of the empty space in the living room! I’m very happy with the change.
I’m becoming an expert beignet baker. I even have Josh’s New Orleans approval, after a few failed attempts.
My bike is overloaded. My poor bike is hauling its own weight in goods every day to and from work. I’m considering getting an attachment for the rear of the bike to store items on, because it’s getting a bit too heavy for the front. (My temporary solution — zip ties, as usual.)
I wasn’t in trouble at work on Friday. There was a fire creating traffic, and then an event prevented parking near the office building. I was one of the few that weren’t frustrated. I got to work on time and strolled into the office with my bike. Hooray for the benefits of biking!
Let the shedding begin. The beginning of summer brings beautiful weather but our animals begin shedding their winter coats. I have to brush Ein on a weekly basis, and you can see how much hair falls off each time I do. Warning for future Corgi owners — they shed like you won’t believe!
My bad luck strikes again. On Saturday, I accidentally shrunk all of our curtains. The care instructions stated “Wash in hot water,” and I thought it was odd, because hot water usually shrinks fabric. Lo and behold, it did. Thanks, IKEA.
I went to the beach on Sunday. It was the hottest day since we’ve started going this year. I like it better with a cold breeze, but in the end I can’t ever complain about the beach.
I hope everyone else had a wonderful week!

Wonderful weather in the LA area last week, which lead to the park and a potential beach trip!
Unfortunately, the beach trip didn’t work out. We just didn’t feel up to it for whatever reason.
However, I ate lunch in the park and took some naps during the work week. It was absolutely wonderful.
We celebrated Josh’s 25th birthday, which isn’t actually until this Wednesday. We spent the day at the Brand at Americana, eating and selecting his gift.
My beauty package from Target came in! Did any one else take advantage of the free beauty bag they were giving away? Follow One Parade’s Twitter if you want to be notified of freebies! Reviews of the products will be up within a few weeks, after I’ve had the chance to use them all.
