Happy Friday! Next week is the birthday of one of my best friends. To celebrate, a bunch of us are going camping this weekend. I love the beautiful state of California… I am just as in love with these mountains as I was when I first arrived here two and a half years ago. They still strike me with awe every time I see them, whether its when I’m driving around in the valley or climbing a peak.
Mountains have a life of their own and they bond people together. The quietness of walking for an hour together, the sense of reaching the same goal, the trust you put in a person to catch you when jumping off of a boulder or the hand you hold to balance when walking across a river. I’ve met so many amazing people here and I feel like I owe it to these mountains. I’d rather be up there than anywhere else.
That being said, I’ve been hitting quite a few blogging roadblocks lately. Can I just say — blogging is hard. Blogging takes so much effort with so little reward. To put hours into blog posts and not receive comments, and to have readers drop instead of accumulate, is really hard to take. But to be honest, I write this blog to share my story and know-how in hopes it helps someone. Even if I never know that I have helped them. So this weekend, while I’m up in the beautiful mountains, I also want to self reflect. I want to think about One Parade. I want to be pumped up about writing again. I hope I come back motivated!
Do you have any plans for the weekend?
