Replace Your Pocket Mirror

I always catch myself looking to see if I have a stray hair using the reflection of my iPhone. Or checking if my lipstick has faded by using the front-facing camera.

I can’t be the only one! If I am, my coworkers must think I’m insane.

It got me thinking how amazing these phones are. Not only can you get an app for everything, but they’ve replaced the pocket mirror. I don’t even know where my pocket mirror is, at this point.

So imagine my surprise when I saw this screen protector from the website I bought my iPhone case from, SwitchEasy:

How cool is that? Now your phone can replace yet another item in your purse. Though I do wonder if this would get annoying and how well the screen would shine underneath. Does it work like a two-way mirror?

I hope one day my phone can also open my apartment door, turn on my car, and pay for me at checkout. I would have a major problem if I lost that, wouldn’t I?

Do you use your smartphone as a mirror? And would you ever buy a mirror screen protector?

My sister has a screen protector like that. It’s really nifty! When your screen is on, you can’t see your reflection at all, but the screen, to me, is not as clear. I mean, you can see everything fine, but … hmm, hard to describe! Also the mirror/screen protector seems to get smudged/dirty easily but that’s the same as any screen protector, I suppose!

I’m curious to see how it works! I think I know what you’re saying. I use my phone as a “mirror” so often that I’m actually considering it. Hmm…

I used to use the front facing camera as a pocket mirror as well! My current phone doesn’t have that, so I just check my reflection when the screen is off. Not very effective, but I can’t be bothered to carry a pocket mirror with me all the time -__-
The screen cover sounds like a nifty idea, but I have the same concerns that Jinny mentioned – I would imagine that the view of your screen would be somewhat affected?

I do the same thing with my phone! I think it would affect the crisp quality of the color and graphics, as Jinny insinuated. I wonder if it’s a good payoff? I wish I could see one of these in person!
