benefits of walking

When was the last time you took a walk?

For some dog owners like myself, it could have been a few hours ago. For others, a few months ago. I find that most people don’t really get outside much, unless they’re walking to their car.

There’s more to walks than simply getting outside. The trick is to leave your phone and mp3 player at home. Take time to reflect on current issues, solutions, things you plan on doing, people who you haven’t’ talked to in a while. Let your mind wander. Even if all you end up doing is noticing a lovely flower growing by your house you never noticed before, you’ll enjoy the walk.

It’s free. It’s healthy. It’s nearly a form of meditation. Even a 10 minute walk has been proven to increase brain chemistry, making you feel happier!
