I grabbed a load of clothes at Dorothy Perkins a few weeks ago during a huge 70% off sale they were having. I don’t really do hauls, but they were all tops I needed for work and the hotter weather.
It was my first time purchasing from Dorothy Perkins, and I’m pretty disappointed with the quality. It reminds me very much of Forever 21. However, the price I can’t complain about!
I spent a lot of time organizing the apartment again. The office was moved around yet again, my desk was reorganized, pictures were finally put in frames, and the bedroom was finally adorned with artwork and flowers.
The bedroom has actually been the hardest for me to decorate. For six months there has been nothing but a bed in our bedroom. Yikes! But now there are flowers, candles, artwork, frames, etc. It’s starting to feel much more like a place where I can relax.
I still need to add my reading nook into the bedroom, and then I’ll consider it complete. (And maybe a few more candles.)
I’ll try to take some pictures of the other changes for next week. It’s been a while since I promised pictures of the decorating! Again, it’s nowhere near done, but it’s getting there.
And that’s all I did last week. I hope everyone else enjoyed it!

Last year, udon noodle soup was my staple and I ate it nearly every day. I made it last week for the first time in ages and I’m putting it back in as a staple dish. Yum! I absolutely love it.
I picked up another Essie polish in the shade Eternal Optimist. This is very similar to OPI’s Dulce de Leche, which is a favorite of mine but kind of a shame. Although it does have a tad more pink than Dulce de Leche, I thought it would be on the lighter side and it came out quite dark.
My BFF sent me a package! Everything inside had an incredibly personal and sentimental meaning. I laughed. I cried. I held a physical book instead of an e-reader for the first time in ages. And this is why I have the best BFF in the world.
I worked on my wedding website for what seemed like every single second I had free. I fixed up the header and I’m nearly done with the informational pages. I’m putting a lot of love into this simple thing, as you can imagine! I drew a lot of the design by hand, when I would normally just use freebies. Here is a tiny preview. It’s not perfect, but I can live with it. (Perfectionist here…)
Updated my iMac to Mountain Lion, which made me happy. Having my phone, tablet, and computer syncing effortlessly is beyond amazing. I feel like my “computer” is everywhere with me, at all times. My fiancé says it’s creepy, but I say who cares. It’s so convenient! Apple, you have my soul.
Hope everyone else had a great week!

After a long makeup break, I’ve been experimenting with my collection again. Mysterious to me at the time, my face also broke out. (More on this later…)
We dog-sat a friend’s pups. Once you find someone else with the dog-depedency-syndrome, you’re quick to start trading favors!
Unfortunately, that same day I arrived back home with a fever after not feeling well. My fiancé Josh banished me to the bedroom. (Oh, how I hate being stuck in bed all day on a weekend…)
Fortunately, the rest was worth it, as I woke up Sunday feeling brand new. (Josh wasn’t so lucky. Oops!)
We’ve been in a financial slump as of late, so it’s rare that I find myself out “window shopping” these days.
However, I found myself at Target, armed with beauty product coupons and ready to use them. I couldn’t help but look around.
I also arranged what I hope to one day be my coffee tray. Yes, I take products and arrange them in the store… A girl on a tight budget has to fulfill the need to decorate and organize somehow. I took a picture in hopes of coming back sometime soon to purchase. I wanted to make sure my coffee grounds fit on the right, and I needed time to let the cost of the silver tray set in. ($20 for such a tiny tray, what the heck Target?)
I got home with my newly purchased beauty products and then began what I call the biyearly purge — I had to go through all my beauty supplies and toss out anything older than 2 years. (Have you done this recently? Do it! Save your skin!)
I also had to toss things that didn’t suit my skin tone anymore, or that I knew were breaking me out. (Cue the revelation for why I suddenly had acne issues after using my makeup again.) I figured better safe than sorry.
This lead to a cleaning frenzy in which I organized my entire bathroom cabinets, washed my makeup brushes to death, and wiped everything down.
Look out for a makeup collection this week, in which you can take a look at my tiny collection!

I’m addicted to International Delight’s Cinnabon coffee creamer. I don’t even miss Starbucks.
I decided on Friday to start cutting out some caffeine again after getting the jitters, so I’m back on decaf. My body just can’t handle much caffeine. My love affair with coffee is killing me.
Independence Day was wonderful! I hope everyone else in the US enjoyed. We had a great show not far away that I was able to enjoy from my balcony.
Walgreens was having some big sales this week. In addition to a large box of Milkbones for $2 (lucky pups!) I saw the Yes to Carrots tinted balms were only about $1 each down from almost $6. There were only about five left, so I grabbed what looked to be an orange color. It’s actually a perfect neutral, so I scored big time!
Essie wasn’t on sale, but I saw this muted lilac color (Master Plan) and couldn’t pass it up. I’m such a sucker. It didn’t help that I’ve been growing tired of the colors in my collection.
Finally went to a matinee showing of Brave. Loved it! I’m a huge Pixar fan.
Inspired by the polish, I created an iPhone wallpaper and put it up as a freebie. Download it out here! I hope to be adding more freebies as the weeks go by, as a thank you for everyone who reads the blog. You’re amazing!
