  • This past week was somewhat of a blur.
  • We had some good news come in as a result of a previous setback.
  • This allowed me to do some shopping. Let’s just say I went all out with this tray set up from Target I was contemplating over last week. Pictures to come for another post.
  • Lunch at the park.
  • Bought some curtains for the office, realized finding a pair for our living room will be a challenge. (I think I’m going to have to hang the curtain bar higher… Anyone have a latter?)
  • Dorothy Perkins was having an irresistible sale and I snagged a handful of beautiful items for next to nothing.  It was my first time ordering from them, so I hope my size works out. Check out their website, they just put new items on sale. (It figures they would do this the day after I place my order.)
  • Saw Dark Knight Rises on Friday with coworkers and again on Saturday with my fiancé. (Incredibly, stupendously happy with its ending.)
  • Spent Saturday “re-experiencing” the Friday night PF Chang’s I had post-movie with coworkers. Not. Fun.
  • My weekend mostly consisted of playing this beauty. It’s been a while since I’ve played anything at all, so I’m excited to be preordering Guild Wars 2 this week. I’ll be playing a human engineer. I’ll even have a monocle! Very steampunk-esque, I love it. Even my desktop has converted.
  • In my spare time I started and finished Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, my latest book club read. It was an average book, fun but not exceptional. You can read my full review here. And if you’re also a bookworm, friend me on Goodreads!

Week 14

  • After a long makeup break, I’ve been experimenting with my collection again. Mysterious to me at the time, my face also broke out. (More on this later…)
  • We dog-sat a friend’s pups. Once you find someone else with the dog-depedency-syndrome, you’re quick to start trading favors!
  • Unfortunately, that same day I arrived back home with a fever after not feeling well. My fiancé Josh banished me to the bedroom. (Oh, how I hate being stuck in bed all day on a weekend…)
  • Fortunately, the rest was worth it, as I woke up Sunday feeling brand new. (Josh wasn’t so lucky. Oops!)
  • We’ve been in a financial slump as of late, so it’s rare that I find myself out “window shopping” these days.
  • However, I found myself at Target, armed with beauty product coupons and ready to use them. I couldn’t help but look around.
  • …Which lead to my Monsieur Cock discovery. Is this not the cutest thing? (It’s a bit of an inside joke.)
  • I also arranged what I hope to one day be my coffee tray. Yes, I take products and arrange them in the store… A girl on a tight budget has to fulfill the need to decorate and organize somehow. I took a picture in hopes of coming back sometime soon to purchase. I wanted to make sure my coffee grounds fit on the right, and I needed time to let the cost of the silver tray set in. ($20 for such a tiny tray, what the heck Target?)
  • I got home with my newly purchased beauty products and then began what I call the biyearly purge — I had to go through all my beauty supplies and toss out anything older than 2 years. (Have you done this recently? Do it! Save your skin!)
  • I also had to toss things that didn’t suit my skin tone anymore, or that I knew were breaking me out. (Cue the revelation for why I suddenly had acne issues after using my makeup again.) I figured better safe than sorry.
  • This lead to a cleaning frenzy in which I organized my entire bathroom cabinets, washed my makeup brushes to death, and wiped everything down.
  • Look out for a makeup collection this week, in which you can take a look at my tiny collection!

  • Wonderful weather in the LA area last week, which lead to the park and a potential beach trip!
  • Unfortunately, the beach trip didn’t work out. We just didn’t feel up to it for whatever reason.
  • However, I ate lunch in the park and took some naps during the work week. It was absolutely wonderful.
  • We celebrated Josh’s 25th birthday, which isn’t actually until this Wednesday. We spent the day at the Brand at Americana, eating and selecting his gift.
  • My beauty package from Target came in! Did any one else take advantage of the free beauty bag they were giving away? Follow One Parade’s Twitter if you want to be notified of freebies! Reviews of the products will be up within a few weeks, after I’ve had the chance to use them all.
