Welcome to the club! Haha, although I deactivated mine temporarily just so I could have one less distraction during finals. Depending on how it goes, maybe I'll keep it this way :)

Thanks! Deactivated it on Monday after a rude comment from someone on my profile picture. I had deactivated my wall long before that, but this was the last straw. FB only stresses me out and completely wastes my time! It's been awesome without it, though I wish it had been deleted and not just deactivated… If I can still log back in at any time, it makes it feel less like I left!

I want to deactivate mine but I only just got friends on there that I've missed lately. Feels like I'd be abandoning them… I know we'd still be friends should I reactivate it, just not sure how I could go away and feel good about it.

I didn't have a rude comment on a picture but a status I had: a friend of a friend came and commented on something that I felt didn't need explanation, but they felt the need to make a rude comment to that friend about me – ON MY WALL. Like I wouldn't see it or mind? Hello!? I GTFO'd that person and fixed it so no one could comment or see my wall without being a friend, and then had to do that for messages cause of random spammers that can't spell my name right even when they have it right in front of them :(

My sister and I are serious bsns about that stuff :3

Don't be surprised if I deactivate mine in the future :( Too much of a distraction for many different reasons.

That was my reasoning for keeping it for a looong time. However, I went to go write down emails of friends I didn't have contact info on…it was just one person. Everyone else, I either didn't care about or already had their information. It caused way more stress, time, and worry than it was worth for me for so many reasons. That really made me realize what I was doing was walking away from a social site, not my friends. Weird how into Facebook I got!

I got replies like that too… Terrible! Aside from a time waster, I got sick and tired of who was saying what on my page about my life and about myself. People tend to say things to you online they wouldn't in person, and I got fed up with it.

      The power of the internet!

I can't believe you deactivated your FB! Good for you!! I've wanted to deactivated mine for awhile now but I keep backing out… There's a few people on there (including family) that the only way I have to contact them is through FB though I guess I could always just email them to get their info… Anyway, I can understand why you did it especially if you have someone make rude comments on your photos!

Thank you! :) I've been waiting ages to do this, and one comment lead me to do it. I had a ton of extended family on there, but they sat on my friends list. I rarely actually talked to them on there. I talk to them on the phone and through Skype, sometimes email. It's weird how I had to tell myself I wasn't disowning them, just leaving a website. I swear Facebook messes with our heads! After all, that's why nearly everyone has a Facebook these days. It's kind of insane!
